Her ordinary facade masked the fact that Retsu is talented in many fields; it's often said that Retsu is the contender of modern day Polymath.

The gift of her extraordinary spatial thinking was discovered by her late grandfather, Takamoto Masauchi; who happened to be a Shogi player with a 7-dan rank.

However, her true desire is to be the fastest on Wangan, with one special condition; her car must not surpass more than 700 HP. The chase of car efficiency, from its combustion system to the power delivery is the reason why Retsu is a maniacal perfectionist.

With all the talent she possessed, Retsu remained a laid-back person; the most friendly one you would ever met. Still, she doesn't have many friends back in her school days; it's because she spent her time mostly on either cars or Shogi.

Her favorite Shogi opening is the Yagura (矢倉) opening. The Yaguragakoi (矢倉囲い) or Fortress Castle is her favorite opening continuation, said to be the most powerful defensive opening in Shogi.

Retsu also plays Chess, as it's more popular internationally. Her favorite opening as white is Ruy López, and her favorite opening as black is Sicilian Defense.

Retsu is what most people might think; a tomboy. Chokers, hoodies, and jeans; with a little variation to differentiate from day by day.

The mole on her right eye is a little feature that can't be overlooked- there's another mole on her breast, yet it's rarely seen.

Takamoto Retsu, and Takamoto Gou. Siblings that can't be separated; after Gou's departure, Retsu carried his philosophy of 'car efficiency' over and dreamt of becoming the fastest in Tokyo... with less power.

Although being a close siblings, Retsu and Gou are 15 years apart. Their parents divorced when Retsu was still 5 years old, hence Gou took the custody of Retsu with the help of their paternal grandparents; Takamoto Masauchi and Takamoto Asami.

Initially, Retsu does not show interest towards cars. In fact, she hate it; Gou was so obsessive towards his MK4 Supra, to the point where most of the time Gou would straight out ignore Retsu. Gou's obsession towards cars was there for a sole reason; he was trying to build a very efficient car, comparable to a hypercar. He was amongst the first group of people in Wangan to reach 300 km/h (186 mph) with just 450 HP worth of 2JZ in his MK4 Supra. It was rumored that Gou was even capable of reaching over 350 km/h (217 mph), after his MK4 Supra is tuned up to just 700 HP.

That's why in her kindergarten days, Retsu was often spent her days with Masauchi; her grandfather. Takamoto Masauchi was a renowned professional Shogi player (将棋棋士, Shogi Kishi). As a grandfather who wasn't quite tech savvy, he was only able to entertain Retsu through Shogi. That time, Masauchi noticed something within Retsu; her remarkable spatial thinking. Even without decent opening knowledge, Retsu was able to be on par with the skills of her grandfather.

Retsu became a professional woman Shogi player (女流棋士, Joryuu Kishi) when she was just 18 years old, after winning several tournaments as the prerequisite to become a professional. With her current rank of 4-dan, Retsu is technically the strongest woman Shogi player in Japan; yet, compared to chess, the population of women Shogi player is minuscule; as it is culturally a men's game. Above her, there are thousands of stronger men; unlike the level of Judit Polgar in chess who was able to even have a winning record against a world champion at that time, having the peak ELO of the 8th highest in the world.

With such promising talent and career, Retsu decided not to pursue formal education at college and would continue to play and teach Shogi.

But... Retsu can't do that. Not after receiving a bad news; that Gou died in a car crash. Now that she remembers about it... weeks before the accident, she felt something strange with her brother. He seemed frustrated, and spent more money than usual.

It was months after the accident, that Retsu finally realized about the truth. Gou, back then... was defeated by a mysterious driver. Some calls them the Zero Fighter. Gou lost his temper by trying to win against such monster, and finally scraped his idealism about efficient race car. Gou tuned his MK4 Supra to the point where it becomes a steel, moving coffin.

Still... to this day, she had no idea about Zero Fighter. The "Truth" is still vague to Retsu. That's why Retsu decided to take over the philosophy of Race car efficiency of Gou by becoming a new pupil of racer in Wangan, prominently the Westbound Line; building the fastest and most efficient MK5 Supra, less about power and more about harmony. All of that was done for Retsu to be able to understand her brother... and carrying his long lost death wish.

The name Retsu and Gou is a reference to the popular kids manga and anime series Bakusou Kyoudai Let's & Go!, a series about Mini 4WD racing. The main characters are siblings with the name Seiba Retsu and Seiba Gou.Retsu's favorite opening in Shogi is the Yagura (矢倉) opening. The opening involves of building a Fortress by surrounding the king after moving the Gold, Silver and Bishop; effectively castling. In the other hand, Retsu's most hated opening in Shogi is the Bishop Exchange opening (角換わり or 角換り, Kakugawari).Retsu's favorite opening in Chess as white is Ruy López, while as black she would often play the Sicilian Defence. Retsu is not the romantic chess type and prefers to play defensively, as her playstyle was inspired by Tigran Petrosian, the strongest defensive chess tactician.More of her information is in progress.
